# English Word Ladders Data Source

The English Word Ladders runtime data is derived from **12dicts 6.0.2**, compiled
by Alan Beale. The 12dicts lists are released to the public domain with a
request for acknowledgment.

Only unannotated lowercase ASCII entries from `3of6game` are accepted by
default. Reviewed exceptions must be added to the explicit allowlist. Generated
puzzle endpoints and every word on a generated shortest hint path also need
membership in `2of5core`. Explicit blocklists remove reviewed sensitive
terms.

The AGID-derived `2of12inf` list is not used in these artifacts.
