Data stored in your browser

The site uses browser storage to remember your theme, game progress, game statistics, and analytics consent choice. These values remain on your device until the site replaces them or you clear this site's data in your browser.

BergPuzzles does not currently provide accounts, cross-device syncing, payments, or an application database for this information.

Hosting and technical data

BergPuzzles is hosted using Firebase App Hosting. Firebase processes technical request data, such as IP addresses, requested pages, times, and browser information, to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you choose Allow analytics. When enabled, it records page views together with standard browser, device, and session information. It may set _ga cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions.

At present, Google Analytics is limited to page views. We do not use analytics for advertising or send puzzle answers or free-text entries to Google Analytics. You can change your choice through Analytics preferences in the footer.

Game services and external links

Most games store progress in your browser. Orðakjarni sends the words you enter and limited game-state information to the BergPuzzles game service so it can score guesses, provide hints, and reveal an answer when requested. Links to external sites are covered by those sites' own privacy notices.

Questions and changes

For privacy questions, use the contact page. This notice will be reviewed when hosting, analytics, or public game services change.
