About Word Squares
Word Squares is a word puzzle game where you build a symmetric word square, so every row is also the matching column. Arrange the available letter tiles in 4 × 4 and 5 × 5 Daily or Unlimited puzzles, or start with an empty grid in Free Form.
Placing a letter outside the main diagonal fills its mirrored cell too, so every choice shapes two words at once. A puzzle is complete when every row and column is an accepted English word.
Rules at a glance
- In Daily and Unlimited play, arrange the loose letter tiles around the locked starting letters.
- Place a letter outside the main diagonal to fill its mirrored cell automatically.
- Use a hint to reveal a correct letter when you need help with a Daily or Unlimited puzzle.
- In Free Form, begin with an empty 4 × 4 or 5 × 5 grid and build any accepted word square.
